How to Use
Dilute your distilled spirit to 50% ABV or lower before filtration.
Assemble the upper and lower reservoirs, install a new carbon cartridge and add the diluted spirit to the upper container. The spirit will slowly pass through the carbon cartridge and collect in the lower reservoir.
Once filtration is complete, the spirit can be dispensed using the fitted tap and diluted further to the desired drinking strength before adding spirit flavouring.
Always follow the instructions supplied with the Easy Filter System and the replacement cartridge.
How Much Spirit Can the Easy Filter Process?
The Still Spirits Easy Filter System can process up to 8 litres of spirit at 50% ABV in one batch.
One cartridge is suitable for filtering the alcohol produced from approximately one standard 25-litre wash.
Can the Easy Filter Be Used for Water?
Yes. The system can be used to filter either spirit or water.
A cartridge can filter up to approximately 300 litres of water, depending on the water quality and operating conditions.
Can I Filter Spirit Above 50% ABV?
No. Spirit should be diluted to 50% ABV or lower before it is passed through the carbon cartridge.
Filtering at the correct strength allows the activated carbon to work effectively and helps ensure the system is used safely.
Is the Carbon Cartridge Reusable?
The carbon cartridge is designed for single-batch spirit filtration and should be replaced after processing one batch of alcohol from a standard 25-litre wash.
Do not reuse a spirit-filtering cartridge if you want consistent filtration results.
Does the System Include a Carbon Cartridge?
Yes. The complete Easy Filter System includes one carbon filter cartridge, allowing you to assemble and use the unit without purchasing the first cartridge separately.

Will Carbon Filtration Remove All Spirit Flavour?
The Easy Filter is primarily intended to polish neutral spirit by reducing unwanted aromas and flavours.
It should normally be used before adding your chosen spirit essence or flavouring. Filtering a finished flavoured spirit may reduce some of its intended flavour and aroma.
Does the Easy Filter Need Electricity?
No. The system relies on gravity to move the liquid through the carbon cartridge, so it does not require a pump or electrical connection.
