How to Use
Clean and sanitise the keg before its first use.
Transfer your finished beverage into the keg, secure the lid and connect a regulated CO₂ supply to the gas-in post. Purge the headspace to reduce oxygen exposure before carbonating the beverage at the appropriate pressure and temperature.
Connect a beverage line or portable tap to the liquid-out post when you are ready to dispense.
Always use a suitable CO₂ regulator and check all connections for leaks before placing the keg into service.
Is This Keg New or Refurbished?
This is a brand-new stainless steel keg, not a refurbished or second-hand soft drink keg.
Will It Fit Standard Ball Lock Disconnects?
Yes. The keg uses standard ball lock gas and liquid posts.
A grey ball lock disconnect is normally used for the gas connection, while a black ball lock disconnect is normally used for the beverage connection.
Does It Include Ball Lock Disconnects?
No. The keg includes the gas and liquid posts, but the matching disconnects, lines, regulator and dispensing equipment are sold separately.
Can I Use It in a Kegerator?
Yes. Its 214mm diameter is similar to a standard 19L ball lock keg, but its shorter 370mm height makes it suitable for many compact kegerators and refrigerators.
Measure the available space and allow extra clearance above the keg for the disconnects and beverage lines.
Can I Carbonate Beer in This Keg?
Yes. The keg is suitable for naturally conditioning or force carbonating home-brewed beer.
It can also be used for cider, ginger beer, premixed beverages, cold brew coffee, soft drinks and carbonated water.
Is It Suitable for Portable Dispensing?
Yes. Its compact capacity and rubber carrying handle make it a convenient option for portable dispensing at parties, barbecues, camping trips and home brew club events.
The keg must remain secured during transport and should only be pressurised and dispensed using suitable kegging equipment.
How Should I Clean the Keg?
Rinse the keg promptly after use and clean it with a stainless-steel-safe brewing cleaner such as StellarClean or sodium percarbonate. Rinse thoroughly and sanitise before filling.
Periodically remove and inspect the posts, poppets, dip tubes and seals for a complete clean.
Do not use bleach or chlorinated cleaning products because they can cause stainless steel to pit, corrode and discolour.
