Help Protect Yeast and Hops During Delivery
Add a Cryogelular Cold Gel Pack to your order to help keep temperature-sensitive liquid yeast and hops cooler while travelling through the postal network.
The reusable four-cell pack is frozen before dispatch and packed with your brewing ingredients. Its compact 14cm × 7cm size fits easily inside shipping cartons without adding excessive bulk.
We strongly recommend adding cold packs when ordering liquid yeast during warmer weather.
Why Add a Cold Pack?
- Helps slow temperature increases during postage
- Useful for protecting hops and yeast during hot weather
- Compact size fits easily inside postage satchels
- Flexible gel remains soft when frozen
- Durable, puncture-resistant vinyl construction
- Reusable after delivery
- Can also be used for mini kegs, coolers and fermentation jackets

How Many Cold Packs Should I Add?
For a small order containing one or two yeast packets, one cold pack provides basic protection against warming during delivery.
For larger orders, warmer destinations or packages containing several temperature-sensitive products, consider adding two or more cold packs.
Cold packs work best when combined with express delivery and ordering at the start of the week.
Will My Cold Pack Still Be Frozen When It Arrives?
Not necessarily. The purpose of the cold pack is to absorb heat and slow the rate at which the contents of the parcel warm.
Depending on the weather, delivery time and destination, the pack may be partially or completely thawed when it arrives. A thawed pack does not mean it failed to provide protection during transit.
Does a Cold Pack Guarantee Refrigerated Delivery?
No. Standard and express postal services are not refrigerated.
A cold pack helps reduce heat exposure, but it cannot maintain a guaranteed temperature or prevent warming during delays, extreme weather or extended delivery periods.
Should I Select Express Post?
Express delivery is recommended when ordering liquid yeast, particularly during warm weather.
Reducing the time spent in transit is generally more effective than relying on cold packs alone. For the best available protection, combine express delivery with one or more cold packs.
Are Cold Packs Necessary for Dry Yeast?
Dry yeast is generally more tolerant of normal shipping temperatures than liquid yeast. However, a cold pack may still be useful during extremely hot weather or when ordering other temperature-sensitive ingredients in the same parcel.
Can the Pack Be Reused?
Yes. Once your order arrives, place the gel pack back into the freezer and reuse it for:
- Lunch boxes and coolers
- Transporting yeast or hops
- Keeping mini kegs cold
- Insulated keg parkas
- Fermentation cooling
- General cold-pack applications
