Keg Compatibility
This seal kit is designed for Cornelius-style kegs and is commonly used with ball lock home brew kegs.
It may also fit compatible pin lock Cornelius kegs; however, keg designs and replacement parts can vary. Compare the existing seals or confirm compatibility before installation.
What Is a Low2 O-Ring?
Low2 keg O-rings are manufactured from synthetic M-Class and cross-linked elastomers.
This specialised material provides better resistance to oxygen transmission than conventional silicone seals, helping reduce oxygen exposure and keep kegged beverages fresher for longer.
When Should Keg O-Rings Be Replaced?
Replace the seals when they appear:
-
Cracked, flattened or stretched
-
Dry, hard or brittle
-
Cut or damaged
-
Difficult to seal
-
Responsible for beer or gas leaks
Replacing all accessible O-rings is also recommended when purchasing a second-hand Corny keg.
How to Install
Depressurise the keg completely before removing the lid, posts or dip tubes.
Remove the old O-rings and thoroughly clean the components. Fit the replacement seals in their corresponding positions, then apply a very light coating of food-grade keg lubricant.
Reassemble the keg, pressurise it and check every connection for leaks using a suitable leak-detection solution.
Which O-Ring Fits Each Post?
The post O-rings are colour-coded for easier identification:
-
Yellow: liquid post
-
Red: gas post
The two smaller matching seals fit beneath the gas and liquid dip tubes.
Will This Kit Fix Every Keg Leak?
It will help resolve leaks caused by worn lid, post or dip tube O-rings. It does not include replacement poppets, posts or a pressure-relief valve.
If a leak continues after installing the new seals, inspect the poppets, pressure-relief valve, keg lid and sealing surfaces for damage.
Should I Use Keg Lubricant?
Yes. A small amount of food-grade keg lubricant can help the O-rings seat correctly and reduce damage during assembly.
Only apply a thin coating, as excessive lubricant is unnecessary.
