Push-In Gas Disconnect for Ball Lock Kegs
Connect your CO₂ gas line directly to a ball lock keg with this compact Duotight gas ball lock disconnect.
The integrated push-in fitting eliminates the need for a separate threaded adapter, swivel nut, barb or hose clamp. Simply select the correct fitting size for your gas line, push the tubing firmly into the disconnect and attach it to the gas post on your keg.
Available for 6.35mm, 8mm and 9.5mm outside-diameter tubing.

Available in three tubing sizes
-
Grey and red colour coding identifies the gas connection
-
Compact design allows easier keg stacking
-
Tool-free disassembly for cleaning
-
Stainless steel spring and ball bearings
-
Highly chemical-resistant construction

Available Sizes
Select the disconnect that matches the outside diameter of your gas line:
-
6.35mm OD: Suits compatible 6.35mm or 1/4-inch OD tubing
-
8mm OD: Suits compatible 8mm or 5/16-inch OD tubing
-
9.5mm OD: Suits compatible 9.5mm or 3/8-inch OD tubing
Always check the outside diameter printed on your tubing before choosing a fitting. The tubing’s internal diameter does not determine Duotight compatibility.

Specifications
-
Product type: Ball lock gas disconnect
-
Connection type: Integrated Duotight push-in fitting
-
Keg connection: Female ball lock gas
-
Colour: Grey and red
-
Tubing options: 6.35mm, 8mm or 9.5mm OD
-
Recommended tubing: Compatible EVA Barrier gas line
-
Maximum system pressure: Up to 100 PSI when used with compatible Duotight tubing and correctly installed
-
Application: CO₂ and compatible keg-dispensing gas systems
The safe working pressure of the complete system is limited by its lowest-rated component. Pressure capacity may be reduced by high temperatures, damaged tubing or incorrect installation.
How to Choose the Correct Size
Measure or check the outside diameter of your existing gas line:
-
Choose 6.35mm for 6.35mm OD tubing
-
Choose 8mm for 8mm OD tubing
-
Choose 9.5mm for 9.5mm OD tubing
For common EVA Barrier gas line with an 8mm outside diameter, select the 8mm OD disconnect.
How to Install
-
Cut the gas line squarely using a sharp tube cutter.
-
Check that the end is clean, round and free from scratches.
-
Push the tubing firmly into the Duotight fitting until it reaches the internal tube stop.
-
Gently pull back on the line to confirm it is locked in place.
-
Push the disconnect onto the gas post of the ball lock keg.
-
Pressurise the system gradually.
-
Check every connection with leak-detection solution before use.
Do not use damaged, deeply scratched or incorrectly sized tubing.
How to Remove the Gas Line
Depressurise the gas system before disconnecting any tubing.
Push the retaining collar towards the fitting while pulling the tube straight out. Do not twist or force the tube sideways, as this may damage the internal O-rings.
Trim off any scratched or damaged section before reconnecting the line.
Is This for the Gas or Liquid Post?
This is the gas disconnect. Its grey and red colouring helps distinguish it from the black and yellow liquid disconnect.
Ball lock gas and liquid posts have different profiles. Do not force a gas disconnect onto a liquid post.
Does It Require a Hose Clamp?
No. The integrated Duotight fitting grips and seals compatible tubing without a hose clamp.
The tubing must be the correct outside diameter, cut squarely and inserted fully.
Does It Need Thread Tape?
No. There is no threaded connection between the gas line and disconnect, so thread tape is not required.
Will It Fit EVA Barrier Gas Line?
Yes, provided you select the disconnect that matches the tubing’s outside diameter.
The 8mm version is commonly used with 8mm OD EVA Barrier beer and gas line.
Can the Disconnect Be Taken Apart?
Yes. The disconnect can be disassembled without tools for inspection and cleaning.
Work over a clean container or tray so the small internal spring, ball bearings and other components are not lost.
Can It Be Used for CO₂?
Yes. It is designed for connecting a regulated CO₂ gas line to the gas post on a compatible ball lock keg.
It may also be suitable for other beverage gases when every component in the system is compatible and correctly pressure-rated.
Why Is My Duotight Connection Leaking?
Common causes include:
-
Tubing not pushed fully into the fitting
-
Incorrect tubing outside diameter
-
An angled or crushed tube cut
-
Scratches on the outside of the tubing
-
Damaged or contaminated internal O-rings
-
Sideways tension pulling on the connection
-
System pressure exceeding a component’s rating
Depressurise the system before inspecting or reconnecting the tubing.
