Your Mangrove Jacks heater pad will ensure you have a constant brewing temperature. This is crucial for success in brewing beer, wine and spirit wash. They use 25 watts of power and give an even, gentle heat.
They are a much more effective option than a heater belt, which heats from the sides and often rises before it penetrates to the middle. Heater belts will lose their shape quite quickly too.
You do not use your heater pad in the first 24- 48 hours of fermentation as the combined yeast and sugar will create enough of its own heat to begin with. In most parts of Australia they only need to be turned on in the evening and then off again in the morning.
